    What the systems sold to dental practices as "AI" actually are, and why the difference changes how you check them. This module separates rules, machine learning and generative AI, opens up image analysis, speech, retrieval and agents, and maps the tool categories a practice meets against what dentists report using and where the device line falls.

  2. Module 02

    What AI Gets Wrong in Dental Practice Work, and Why It Sounds Right

    Fluent output is not checked output. This module works through the failures a dental team will actually meet — invented rules and citations, quiet omissions, elaboration of a false detail, stale content, prompt sensitivity and uneven performance — and builds the review habit that catches them, using fictional examples you can check line by line.

  3. Module 03

    Protected Health Information, HIPAA and Where Dental Patient Data Goes

    What counts as protected health information in a dental practice, and what happens to it when it enters an AI tool. This module covers the covered entity, treatment, payment and operations, minimum necessary, business associates and their subcontractors, the two de-identification methods, and a decision method for whether patient information may enter a system at all.

    Accountability and the Clinical Line: Who Owns What AI Produces

    Who owns an AI-assisted output in a dental practice, and where the line sits between administrative support and the dentist's clinical judgment. This module reads three state supervision schemes side by side, marks the line the front office must not cross, and separates what an association code asks of its members from what state law requires of every licensee.

    Researching Board Rules, Payer Policies and Guidance With AI, and Checking Their Status

    How to use AI to find a rule without letting it become your authority. This module builds a research workflow that ends at the official publisher, works seven dated status checks — proposed, vacated, waived, set aside, repealed and re-enacted, and not yet effective — and shows how to record what was checked, where, and on what date.

  6. Module 06

    Prompt Engineering for Dental Practice Administration

    How to write a request that produces checkable administrative output in a dental practice. This module builds an eight-part prompt, shows why supplying the document beats asking the model to recall it, applies minimum necessary to what goes into the box, and works patterns for schedules, recall, letters, forms and staff material.
