    From Task to System: The Operations View of Landscape AI

    Level 3 opens with the shift from one careful AI-assisted task to work several people run across hundreds of properties and a full season: why volume and handoffs change the risk, how a busy route day hides errors, why AI performance is uneven from task to task, who owns an operation, and why a measured baseline comes before any redesign.

    Mapping a Service Line Before Automating Any Part of It

    Before any AI tool touches a maintenance, enhancement, spray, irrigation or tree service line, map it as it actually runs: the undocumented steps and exceptions, every handoff and review point, each qualified decision marked by the state or federal rule that creates it, and a step-by-step baseline of turnaround, callbacks and rework.

    Risk-Tiering Landscape AI Tasks by Consequence and Reversibility

    A tier grid that sorts every AI-assisted landscape task by how bad a wrong output could be and how hard it is to undo, from a misspelled customer name to a wrong product on a wrong site; the review depth, reviewer, records and escalation each tier needs; the tasks that hide their true tier; and the register and triggers that force a re-tier.

    How to write standard operating procedures for AI-assisted work in the office and on the truck: steps, checks, evidence, sign-off and exceptions; keeping label, safety and supervision steps word for word instead of letting a model paraphrase them; reading level, language and phone-screen format; and testing a procedure on a new hire in week one.

    Building a Retrieval Corpus of Labels, Specifications and Property Records

    How to build the document collection an AI assistant searches: choosing labels, safety data sheets, specifications, contract scopes, property records and procedures; tagging each by state, site, season, product version and effective date; naming an owner and re-check date for each; and keeping codes, payment data, biometrics and worker identity documents out.

    Retrieval Failure Modes: Superseded Labels, Wrong Product, Wrong Zone, Wrong State

    How a retrieval tool built over labels, specifications and property records fails with total confidence: a superseded label, a sister formulation, the wrong hardiness zone, another state's rule, a planted document. Why a correct quotation from the wrong document is the hardest error to see, which defences catch it, and why retrieval authorises nothing.
