How this one is meant to be worked through, in the author's own words:

1. Read Chapters 5 to 8 first, in order. They are the four rules and every later chapter refers back to them.
2. Then read Chapter 21 before you publish anything with an answer key in it. The key is trusted absolutely, checked by nobody until it fails, and its failure happens in public to the person who paid you.
3. SOLVE every item on your own answer key, cold, on paper, as a student at that grade would, without looking at the key you wrote. Then compare item by item. Anything that took two attempts is ambiguous; anything you got 'wrong' is either a bad key or a bad item.
4. Build the key ALONGSIDE the items rather than afterwards - write an item, solve it, record the answer, move on. This alone catches most problems while they are still cheap to fix.
5. Never adapt a key for a differentiated version by editing numbers. Solve each version fresh. Adapted keys drift from their items.
6. PRINT it yourself before publishing, on an ordinary printer, at default settings, in black and white, on both sides. Check nothing important sits near the trim edge, that no answer is on the back of its question, and that the type is readable at printed size.
7. Write teacher instructions a substitute could follow: the objective, what to say when handing it out, what the class will get stuck on, a tested timing or defensible range, what to do with a student who finishes early or cannot start, and any materials required. Test them on somebody who does not teach the subject.
8. Write the learning objective in one plain, checkable sentence BEFORE any item exists. If the verb is 'understand' or 'explore' it is not checkable; if it needs three sentences this is a unit rather than a resource; if you cannot write it at all, do not build it.

Written to be used rather than skimmed. Every financial figure is left blank on purpose, and anything touching law, tax, insurance or data protection is written as questions for a qualified professional rather than answers.
