How this one is meant to be worked through, in the author's own words:

1. Read the Introduction and Chapters 4 to 7 first, in order. Those are the four rules, and everything after them assumes them.
2. Before your next session, establish the three things in Section 12.1: what your qualification authorises, what checks apply to you, and what your governing body's current guidance says. If you cannot complete all three, the next session does not happen.
3. Find out today who your designated safeguarding contact is, and who you would report to if the concern involved them. Write both numbers in your kit bag.
4. Obtain your governing body's current head-injury and return-to-play guidance and record the date. This book states no protocol, and guidance in that area has changed substantially and repeatedly.
5. Call an insurer with the twelve questions in Resource 9 before the first paid session. Stock at home, goods in your vehicle, and whether officiating is covered are the three that surprise people.
6. Already coaching? Start with Chapter 20, then Chapter 22, then Chapter 28 - the self-observation you have never done, the safeguarding position you have never written, and the two-thirds of your hours you are not charging for.
7. Publish your head-injury position and your safeguarding arrangement before you need them. Doing so converts the hardest conversation in coaching into an administrative one.
8. Work Resource 66, the Thirty-Day Launch Plan, in order. It is sequenced so nothing depends on something not yet done, and it starts the background check process early because it takes weeks.

Written to be used rather than skimmed. Every financial figure is left blank on purpose, and anything touching law, tax, insurance or data protection is written as questions for a qualified professional rather than answers.
