How this one is meant to be worked through, in the author's own words:

1. Read the Introduction and Chapters 4 to 8 first, in order. Those are the four rules and the refusal lists, and everything after them assumes them.
2. Already printing for money? Start with Chapter 4, then Chapter 5, then Chapter 23 - a file you had no right to print, a part sold with no statement of what it cannot do, and a failure rate nobody has costed.
3. Write Resources 27 and 28 before taking any work. They will not be written at midnight with a machine idle and money on offer.
4. Obtain the technical and safety data sheets for the exact brand and product of every material you run, and keep copies. A material whose data sheet you do not hold is one you cannot honestly sell a part in.
5. Measure your own achievable tolerance, three prints per material, and publish it. Almost nobody does.
6. Calculate machine cost per hour including depreciation, and put it in every quote.
7. Every figure in the book is invented and illustrative. Fill in your own using Resources 19, 30, and 31.
8. The book states no material property, printing parameter, or law. Material questions go to the data sheet, legal questions to a qualified attorney, and adequacy questions to a qualified engineer.

Written to be used rather than skimmed. Every financial figure is left blank on purpose, and anything touching law, tax, insurance or data protection is written as questions for a qualified professional rather than answers.
